4D, Inc. Ships 4D Macro Pack Featuring Seventeen Macros to Help Increase Developer Productivity

4D Macro Pack takes advantage of new macro features in 4D 2004, including the ability to execute 4D Methods.

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 16, 2004 -- 4D, Inc., publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS environment, 4D Business Kit and 4D WebSTAR Server Suite, today announced it is shipping 4D Macro Pack, a free 4D component that offers a collection of seventeen time-saving macros designed to increase developer productivity. When developing applications, macros can be called to generate code automatically and help programmers work more efficiently. In 4D 2004, macros can be saved as XML files and custom named for easy accessibility. Macros can also call and execute 4D project methods.

4D Macro Pack includes the following macros: Doc 4D, which generates API documentation using Doc4D comment blocks; Modularize, which helps break down large methods into smaller components; DeclareSoap, which is useful for transforming 4D methods into Web services methods; and CreateObject, which generates scripts that can access COM objects from 4D.
